Did you know that people have worked in the dental profession since around 7000 B.C? While the profession might be old, there are certainly ways to breathe some new life into the industry. Here are some ideas to modernize your dental practice, which just might drive new business into your office.

Invest in a User-Friendly Scheduling Software

In 2022 it is not surprising to learn that most people would rather book appointments online rather than over the phone. To make your practice more appealing to the phone-wary crowd, try investing in a user-friendly scheduling software. This will allow your patients to book or change their appointments online, never necessarily having to pick up the phone. With the right software, you can set filters and limitations on your end so that your customers can book appointments that fit with your office's schedule. You can even have that software send a confirmation email to your clients with their appointment time or directions to get to your office. You can’t get more modern than that!

Provide Flexible Financing Options

Not every patient within your practice will have the same levels of insurance or accessible funds for dental care, especially after the pandemic. Some patients might have great insurance that will cover their entire bill, while others might not. Some patients can pay their bills upfront, while others might require some kind of payment plan to pay for their services. To be considerate of the needs of all types of patients, be sure to offer at least one type of flexible financing options so your patient can get the services they need without having to worry about paying for it immediately. Also be sure to accept credit cards and more modern methods of payment such as Apple Pay or Square. Being up to date with your technology and having a variety of payment methods and conditions will surely modernize your office.

Use Digital Marketing

As mentioned in many of our previous blog posts, in 2022, social media is king and the best way to get your business name out to the masses quickly. You have so many options readily at your fingertips – from something as simple and inexpensive as social media, to something more thorough and expensive as paid advertising. By advertising your practice online, you’re sure to capture a whole new audience that might otherwise not have heard about your business. Having an online presence is the quickest way to streamline your dental practice in 2022!

Just because you run a dental practice doesn’t mean you need to stick to old traditional methods of business to be successful. Trying some contemporary business practices is sure to bring new clients into your dental office, maintaining your success for years to come!

Three small plants are growing out of the ground.
By Amanda Cox May 1, 2025
On Monday, May 4th of 2015, Annabelle Cormack officially incorporated Cormack Recruitment. The Star Wars fan in me has always wondered if she did that on purpose, but whether she intended to or not, every year on the 4th of May for the last 9 years I have said to myself "May the Force be with you this year, Cormack." And this year, as we celebrate an entire DECADE in business, I truly feel "the Force is strong with this one." But let's be real, that wasn't always the case. Building this business from the ground up was no small feat, and working alongside my amazing friend and mentor, Annabelle, for the first 5 years to do just that, we faced a lot of ups and downs together.
